Fabian Review and online

We welcome pitches for articles for the Fabian Review and our website. If you have an idea for an article, please email a short pitch to Kate Murray.

Pamphlets and reports

If you have an idea for a longer piece of work, including a pamphlet or report, please contact Kate Murray to find out how to prepare and submit a project proposal.

Volunteer

The society does not offer unpaid internships, but there are opportunities to volunteer, particularly around the time of our New Year and summer conferences and Labour party conference.

Please contact our events and marketing manager Katie Curtis to register your interest in volunteering.

Local Fabian societies

Our local Fabian societies are at the heart of the Fabian Society. They provide a platform for informed debate and discussion of political issues across the UK.

Check our local societies page for details of your nearest local society and contact the local convener to find out more about getting involved.

Alternatively, if there is no local society near you, you could set one up. Please contact Katie Curtis to find out more.

Young Fabians

The Young Fabians run a busy programme of events and activities and also have their quarterly magazine, Anticipations.

Visit www.youngfabians.org.uk to find out more about how you can get involved.

Fabian Women’s Network

The Fabian Women’s Network organises events and a successful mentoring programme and publishes a magazine, Fabiana.

Visit www.fabianwomen.org.uk to find out more about how you can get involved.

Scottish and Welsh Fabians

The Scottish Fabians have an active programme of events, directed by an elected committee. If you would like to get involved, please contact our Scotland manager Katherine Sangster.

The Welsh Fabians runs a programme of events in Wales and also welcomes submissions for their blog. For more information contact Katie Curtis.

Member policy groups

Fabian Society member-led groups explore policy issues in detail. Find out more.

Elections for the executive committee

If you are a member of the Fabian Society, you can stand for election to our executive committee. The executive meets quarterly and oversees the work of the society. As a Fabian member, you will be notified of the opening of nominations for the next election. Details of current members of the executive committee can be found here.

Conduct, complaints and safeguarding

The society’s rules and by-laws state that people participating in society activities must be treated with dignity and respect at all times, free from harassment or discrimination. The society has a Code of Conduct for all members and people participating in our activities, a safeguarding policy on the protection of children and vulnerable adults, and a complaints procedure for complaints unrelated to safeguarding.  If you wish to make a complaint about the conduct of a member or to express concern about the wellbing of a child or vulnerable adult involved in the society’s activities please contact the General Secretary.
